Islands of Song

16th-19th March 2005

The cultural links between Ireland and Newfoundland are significant given the historical ties between the two islands.

This event aims to explore our shared heritage and the subjects that now exercise the minds of song writers, and the communities of both islands in 2005. We propose to initiate this cultural link through a comprehensive programme of music and performance.

“Islands of Song” is a creative initiative which will bring together some of the finest songwriters from Ireland and Newfoundland. It is a unique collaboration which will enable them to express their art, work in partnership with each other and explore common ground. “Islands of Song” takes place at the Triskel Arts Centre, Cork and is part of the new Cork St. Patricks Festival.

Pre-booking for this event, which runs nightly from March 16 th to 19 th, is essential as a limited number of places are available, For bookings telephone: 021 4272022, email: info@triskelart.com or visit www.triskelart.com
