Hot Press Review, September 2005
Well-travelled Corkman Cotter does his own neat take on indie-pop classicism with impressive production courtesy of the Frank and Walters' Ashley Keating. The chugging rush of 'Bricks And Mortar' recalls the Split Enz hit 'I got You'; 'And Again' is a Morrissey-like ballad while the sublime 'River Valley Road' is a real highlight. |

Ken features as the Evening Echo's Band Apart, a weekly focus on an artist that 'has what it takes to make the big time'. |
|
From the article by Don O Mahony
'This CD, featuring tracks that will appear on his imminent Agent Orange album, sounds totally assured. 'It Just Rains Down' is simply structured, confidently delivered, presses all the right buttons, yet vanishes in a twinkle. The structure and tone [of 24 Hour News] is more complex than 'It Just Rains Down' but, while there is the slightest hint there that he listens to Radiohead, Cotter comfortably invests it with a similar lightness. |

"This project will bring together the cream of Cork and Newfoundland songwriting talent. We are going for a 'Later with Jools Holland' vibe for the performances and the songwriters will be backed up by serious world beats courtesy of Derek Kelly and Company. These shows should not be missed and promise to be the most exciting songwriting event held in Cork for a long, long time.
We are also recording the shows for CD and DVD. Tickets can be bought at the Triskel. "
